Archivarix Cache Viewer Extension for Chrome and Firefox

Published: 2026-02-14

We've released a browser extension called Archivarix Cache Viewer. It's available for both Chrome and Firefox. The extension is free and contains no ads whatsoever.
The idea is simple: quick access to cached and archived versions of any web page right from the browser's context menu. No more manually copying URLs, opening Wayback Machine and pasting the address there. Right-click, pick the archive you need, done.

Archivarix Cache Viewer works with six web archives at once:

Wayback Machine - this one needs no introduction, the main and largest internet archive out there.
Yandex Cache - cached pages from Yandex search results. The extension automatically finds the cached link on the search results page and redirects you to the cache, no manual searching required. Yandex may show a captcha on the first request, just solve it and continue working.
Archive.is (also known as Archive.today) - similar to Wayback Machine, but smaller.
Arquivo.pt - a Portuguese web archive, but it has good coverage of not just European, but worldwide content.
GhostArchive - an alternative archive that works pretty well with news and social media.
Archive-It - curated web collections from Internet Archive.

Each archive has its own coverage, so if a page isn't found in one, it may well be in another. The extension lets you open all archives at once with a single click, so the whole check takes literally a second.
The extension works from the context menu (right mouse button). It operates in three modes: on any open page (checks the current URL), on any link (hover over a link, right-click and check the archived version of where it leads) and on selected text (if you select a domain name in the text, the extension will recognize it).

Domain Buyer Mode

This is the most interesting feature for those who work with expired domains and build PBN networks. When this mode is enabled, the extension automatically recognizes domain names on popular domain trading platforms:

ExpiredDomains.net - the main database for finding expired domains
Backorder.ru - for those working with the .ru zone
DropCatch.com - domain auction and drop catching service

Here's how it works in practice: you're on ExpiredDomains.net, browsing domain lists, you hover over an interesting domain, right-click, and instantly see what used to be on that domain. No need to copy the domain every time, open archive.org, paste, wait. The entire check happens right in the context menu. You can open one specific archive, or all of them at once to gather as much information as possible.
For those who regularly monitor drops and pick domains for PBN, this is a serious time saver. Checking each domain in archives used to take 20-30 seconds of manual work. When you're reviewing hundreds of domains a day, those seconds add up to hours. With the extension, the whole process comes down to two clicks.
Evaluating a domain's history before buying is one of the key steps. You need to understand what content was on the domain before, whether it was used for doorways or something else shady. If the domain used to be a legitimate niche site with good content, that's a completely different story than if it had a parking page or a casino redirect. Archivarix Cache Viewer lets you check this as fast as possible.

The extension doesn't collect any data, doesn't track your activity and works entirely locally in the browser. It only activates when you use it. No impact on browser performance, the extension weighs less than 100 kilobytes.
